Our Story
The Yiddish Week began in 1975 when Dr. Mordechai Shechter brought students from the Ariel Weinreich Summer Program to Camp Boiberik for a week of Yiddish immersion. This annual event has evolved into a vibrant gathering where families and individuals from diverse Jewish backgrounds come together to speak Yiddish, fostering a unique community.
Impact
Yiddish Week creates a nurturing environment for Yiddish-speaking families, allowing them to connect and immerse themselves in their language and culture, thus ensuring the continuity of Yiddish heritage.
