Our Story

Established in April 1986, Yorktown Senior Center was founded by a dedicated group of seniors aiming to create a supportive environment for socialization and community engagement. This center quickly became a vital resource for seniors and their families, providing essential information and referrals about aging services. Notably, Yorktown was the first in the aging services network to advocate for flu immunizations by partnering with the York City Health Bureau.

Impact

Today, Yorktown Senior Center operates as a Nutrition Center supported by the Office of Aging, offering free hot lunches to members aged 60 and older. Beyond meals, the center promotes overall health through educational opportunities, ensuring that active seniors can maintain their independence and contribute positively to the community.
