About VASEM

The Virginia Academy of Science, Engineering, and Medicine (VASEM) was established in 2013, inspired by Sen. Mark Warner's vision for a nonpartisan body that provides objective technical guidance on critical issues. With a membership comprising leaders from the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine, VASEM is dedicated to promoting research and fostering collaboration in Virginia.

Impact

VASEM has successfully hosted nine summits addressing emerging challenges and published in-depth studies on pressing issues. The fellowship program connects graduate students with policymakers, enhancing the scientific and technical capacity of Virginia's government.
