Our Story

View of Heaven Farm was born out of love and determination, inspired by the journey of Thomas, a joyful and faith-filled child. Born Luis Alejandro Arias Maximo in Aculco, Mexico, Thomas faced significant health challenges from a young age. After enduring a long hospital stay and multiple surgeries, he was welcomed into a loving family that believed in his potential. Despite being diagnosed with Fragile X syndrome, Thomas thrived in an environment that encouraged his growth and integration into the community.

Throughout his life, Thomas has shown remarkable resilience and a zest for life. His journey took him from Mexico to Haiti and eventually to Virginia, where he embraced new languages and cultures. His ability to connect with others and bring joy to those around him is a testament to his spirit. As he navigated through school, Thomas faced challenges but also found opportunities to shine, becoming a beloved member of his community.

Inspired by Thomas and his friends, View of Heaven Farm was established to provide meaningful employment for neurodiverse individuals and those with special needs. The farm features 4,600 square feet of raised beds, a greenhouse with hydroponic systems, and facilities designed to support year-round employment. This initiative not only empowers individuals but also fosters a sense of belonging and purpose.
