Our Story

VHO Inc., formerly known as Virginia Health Options, LLC, was established in 2014 to assist Ryan White clients in enrolling in comprehensive ACA Federal Marketplace health insurance plans. In 2016, VHO transitioned to a non-profit organization to better serve the community and manage the Nexus Program, which supports patients seeking HIV+ care in private infectious disease practices. Each year, during the Open Enrollment Period, VHO also aids Virginia ADAP clients in navigating ACA Marketplace Health Insurance.

Impact

Since its inception, VHO has successfully enrolled approximately 1,500 Ryan White eligible Virginia ADAP individuals in health insurance plans. Research indicates that individuals with HIV who have health insurance experience improved health outcomes, including better disease management and reduced mortality rates.
