Our Story

The Vashon Food Bank began in the late 1970s as a humble food pantry in the basement of the Presbyterian Church, created to support families impacted by economic downturns. Since receiving 501(c)(3) status in 1991, the organization has evolved to meet the community's changing needs, expanding its services and facilities.

In 2023, the Vashon Food Bank provided grocery services to 1,707 individuals, showcasing its essential role in combating food insecurity on Vashon Island.
