Our Story

In 2005, Dr. Denis Donovan was commissioned by the Danish government to interview Holocaust survivors, leading him to meet Philip Gans, an Auschwitz survivor. Gans sought help to share his story with schoolchildren, which inspired the creation of Tolerance Week. This initiative has grown significantly, allowing Gans to share his experiences with over fifty thousand children across multiple states, emphasizing the importance of combating bullying and racism.

Impact

Tolerance Week has successfully reached over fifty thousand children in Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota, educating them about the dangers of bullying and racism through firsthand accounts of Holocaust survivors.
