The Venture Out Project was founded in 2014 by Perry Cohen to create outdoor adventures for the queer and transgender community. What began as a few backpacking trips has blossomed into a nationally recognized nonprofit dedicated to fostering inclusivity and diversity in outdoor spaces.
As of 2023, The Venture Out Project has led over 50 adventures for more than 500 LGBTQ+ participants worldwide, promoting community and personal growth through shared outdoor experiences.
