Founded in 2012, RiseUP for Arts began as a youth development and mentoring program. It transformed into Connecticut's only state-wide public art nonprofit after a youth cohort painted a large mural in Hartford in 2015. The organization focuses on creating inclusive and accessible public art through collaboration with local artists and community members.
Since 2015, RiseUP for Arts has completed over 300 mural and placemaking projects, engaging more than 1,000 volunteers annually and directly impacting over 500 youth each year. The organization has invested over $1 million in public art, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
