Founded in January 2014 by Captains Bryan and Whitney Curry, Texas Floating Classroom, Inc. aims to enhance marine science education for students in the Texas coastal bend. With the acquisition of the R/V Archimedes, a 34-passenger USCG certified vessel, students are given the unique opportunity to explore and study the marine environment firsthand.
In 2023, Captain Whitney was honored with the Texas Environmental Excellence Award, highlighting the significant impact of the Texas Floating Classroom on students' understanding of marine science.
