Our Story
The Society for Companion Animals (SFCA) was founded to combat the critical issue of pet overpopulation in Texas. Thousands of unwanted animals face euthanasia in municipal shelters each year. Unlike traditional rescue groups, SFCA takes on the full financial responsibility of rescuing these animals and transporting them to partner shelters in areas with a high demand for adoptable pets.
Our Impact
Each year, SFCA rescues around 500 adoptable dogs from high-kill shelters, significantly reducing the number of homeless dogs in Texas. These animals receive necessary medical care and are transported to no-kill shelters in New York and New Jersey, where they quickly find loving homes.
Why Donate?
Donations to SFCA are vital for covering veterinary care, boarding, and transport costs for rescued dogs. With no paid staff, every dollar donated goes directly to saving lives and providing care for homeless animals in need.
