Our Story
In 2010, Julie Ipema's journey to Thailand with Women at Risk International opened her eyes to the harsh realities of sex trafficking. This experience ignited a passion to combat trafficking, revealing that this issue was not just overseas but also present in local communities. In 2021, a dedicated group from Faith Church began to pray and strategize on how to serve those affected by commercial sexual exploitation, leading to the establishment of Sheltered91 in October 2021. By May 2022, Sheltered91 was officially recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and joined the Naomi's House Network, gaining invaluable mentorship to enhance restorative programming.
Our Impact
Sheltered91 is committed to creating safe spaces of hope and healing for individuals at risk of sexual exploitation. Through awareness, outreach, prevention, and restoration activities, the organization helps women heal and achieve their personal goals.
