Our Story

Founded 35 years ago by elite runner Sandra Johnson, the Say No To Drugs Holiday Classic was inspired by Nancy Reagan’s slogan 'Just Say No'. Local Clearwater residents, all non-paid volunteers, have continued this tradition, organizing the race with the help of hundreds of dedicated individuals.

Impact

Financial support for the race comes from local businesses and race entry fees. After covering expenses, proceeds benefit local charities and children’s organizations, including the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and the Challenged Athletes Foundation.
