Our Story
In 2006, Debora Wilcox experienced the heart-wrenching loss of her two beloved Labrador retrievers, Elliott and Sam. After months of searching, she realized they were gone forever. This painful experience ignited a passion within her to improve the system for lost pets in Saunders County. In 2007, Saunders County Lost Pets (SCLP) was born in Debora's garage, driven by a mission to reunite lost animals with their families or find them new homes.
Today, SCLP operates out of downtown Wahoo, Nebraska, with a dedicated board of directors and a team of volunteers. The organization has expanded its services to include boarding, grooming, and dog daycare, all while maintaining a focus on helping stray and unwanted pets.
