Our Story
For nearly a century, the Saint Paul Jaycees have been dedicated to serving the community, fostering lifelong friendships, and building professional networks. Established on September 11, 1929, the organization has a rich history of leadership and community engagement, with notable figures like Leslie Farrington, the first chapter president, who also served as the Jaycee National President in 1933. The Jaycees have been instrumental in creating beloved St. Paul traditions, including the annual School Patrol Parade and Picnic and the St. Paul Winter Carnival.
Throughout the years, the Saint Paul Jaycees have responded to community needs, from organizing the polio vaccine drive in the 1950s to brightening the holidays for families through the Children’s Holiday Shopping Event. In 1984, the organization made history by advocating for women’s full membership rights, setting a precedent for fraternal organizations nationwide. Today, the members of the Saint Paul Jaycees Charitable Foundation continue to dedicate their time to helping others, enriching their own lives while making a significant impact on the community.
