Founded in 1977, Safe Voices began as a vital project to provide emergency shelter for battered women and children. Over the years, it has evolved to support survivors of domestic abuse, sex trafficking, and sexual exploitation across Androscoggin, Franklin, and Oxford counties. The name change to Safe Voices in 2010 signifies a commitment to all survivors, emphasizing empowerment and hope.

Impact

Safe Voices provides over 10,000 hours of support annually, assisting more than 1,600 victims in the past year alone. As the sole provider of shelter and support services in its operational area, the organization plays a crucial role in fostering safe environments and advocating for social change.
