Honoring Ron Jankowski's Legacy
On February 10, 2009, Ron Jankowski tragically lost his life while playing hockey, a sport he loved deeply. Ron was not just a passionate athlete; he was a devoted husband, father, and mentor to many, especially young firefighters. His commitment to integrity and community service inspired those around him, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives.
In memory of Ron, the Scarborough Engine Company established the Ron Jankowski 92 Engine Memorial Fund. This fund aims to continue his legacy by providing scholarships to deserving students from the Briarcliff Manor School District, Ossining Union Free School District, Mahopac School District, and Briarcliff Manor Fire Department. These scholarships are awarded to students who embody Ron's values of family, community respect, and a drive to succeed.
