Rock River Valley Pantry

Our Story

Established in 1976, the Rock River Valley Pantry has grown from serving 125 households a month to becoming the largest community-based food pantry in Northern Illinois. With the support of around 125 dedicated volunteers each week, the Pantry distributes over a million pounds of food annually from two locations, five days a week.

Impact

By providing nutritious food to those in urgent need, the Pantry serves a diverse clientele, including the working poor, homeless, and older adults, ensuring that no one in the community goes hungry.

Why Donate?

Monetary donations enable the Pantry to purchase two to three times more food than individuals could buy on their own, with 93% of funds directly supporting program services. Contributions stay in the community, helping those who are food insecure.
