Our Story

The Pacific Art League, originally known as the Palo Alto Art Club, has been a cornerstone of the arts community in Palo Alto, California, since its founding in 1921. Initially established by a group of around 40 artists connected to Stanford University, the club began as a gathering place for upper-class artists. Over the years, it has transformed into a vibrant nonprofit arts institution, offering a diverse range of art classes, workshops, and summer camps, serving over 2,000 students each quarter.

Impact

PAL's mission is to advance the expression, appreciation, and enjoyment of the arts for all, including outreach programs in vulnerable and underserved communities. Research shows that arts education significantly enhances academic and social development.
