Our Story

The Ohio Access to Justice Foundation, established in 1993, is dedicated to funding civil legal aid and access to justice initiatives across Ohio. This nonprofit organization works tirelessly to ensure that low-income and underserved individuals receive the legal support they need. By distributing financial resources generated from Interest on Lawyer Trust Accounts (IOLTA) and other funding sources, the Foundation addresses the unmet civil legal needs of Ohioans, fostering fairness and justice for all.

Impact

In 2020, Ohio attorneys contributed an impressive 98,783 pro bono hours, valued at over $24.6 million. This commitment to service increased by 24% compared to the previous year, with attorneys dedicating more than 10,000 hours in response to the pandemic. These efforts highlight the Foundation's significant role in enhancing access to justice.
