Oasis A Safe Haven for Survivors of Domestic and Sexual Violence, formerly known as the Calcasieu Women’s Shelter, has been a beacon of hope since 1979. Founded to assist abused women and their children, this organization became a United Way agency in 1983, expanding its services to include a Rape Crisis Outreach program in 1994. In 2011, the organization rebranded to better reflect its mission of providing essential support and shelter for victims in Southwest Louisiana.
