About the New Canaan Beautification League

The New Canaan Beautification League is a dedicated nonprofit community service and educational organization located in New Canaan, Connecticut. Established in 1939, this organization focuses on beautifying the community while providing opportunities for members to enhance their knowledge of gardening, conservation, and horticulture. With a diverse membership that includes both new residents and long-time locals, the League welcomes individuals of all gardening skill levels to participate in monthly programs and activities that are free and open to the public.

Impact on the Community

Every dollar received supports year-round, volunteer-led efforts to keep New Canaan beautiful, blooming, and buzzing. In spring and summer, the League creates new landscapes in public spaces, maintains 33 roadway triangles, and provides 225 hanging baskets to enhance the downtown area. During winter, the annual Holiday Greens workshop prepares the town for the festive season.
