Our Story
The Neonatal Kidney Collaborative (NKC) was established in 2013 following a National Institutes of Health workshop focused on neonatal acute kidney injury. This initiative brought together neonatologists and pediatric nephrologists from 24 international centers to address critical knowledge gaps. The NKC's first mission was the AWAKEN study, which has paved the way for further advancements in neonatal kidney health.
Our Impact
By focusing on high-quality research and developing best practice clinical guidelines, the NKC aims to significantly reduce the global burden of kidney disease among newborns.
