Our Story
Founded in 1972 by Marilyn and Wayne Weber, Montessori Community School began as Katrice Montessori School to meet the unique needs of their daughter with Down Syndrome. Starting with just five students, MCS has grown into a vibrant educational community, offering programs from early childhood through sixth grade. In 1982, the school was renamed to reflect its commitment to a collaborative educational approach. Over the years, MCS has expanded its offerings, including toddler classes, and has achieved full accreditation from the American Montessori Society and the Hawaii Association of Independent Schools.
