Our Story

Founded in June 1990 by the Mental Health Association of New Jersey, Monarch Housing Associates was created to address the pressing need for independent housing for individuals with mental illness. After extensive research, it became clear that housing coupled with supportive services was essential for successful transitions into independent living. Monarch Housing Associates emerged as a collaborative partner, assisting community service providers in developing supportive housing across New Jersey.

Impact

To date, Monarch Housing Associates has successfully developed over 3,000 units of affordable and supportive housing, securing more than $85 million in funding for projects aimed at supporting individuals experiencing homelessness.
