Founded in 2000, the Midwest Mission Distribution Center serves as a vital hub for humanitarian aid, focusing on disaster relief, health, education, and micro-business initiatives. Located on an 8-acre campus east of Chatham, Illinois, this nonprofit organization has grown significantly over the years, expanding its facilities and outreach to better serve those in need.

Our Story

The inception of Midwest Mission was driven by the need for a dedicated space to receive, prepare, store, and ship essential supplies to areas affected by disasters. The devastating floods of 1993 highlighted the necessity for such a facility, leading to the establishment of the center in 1999. With initial funding from the Illinois Great Rivers Conference and the United Methodist Committee on Relief, the center has operated without debt, relying solely on donations and volunteer efforts.

Over the years, Midwest Mission has expanded its operations, now boasting 35,000 square feet of warehouse space, three heated warehouses, and a new loading dock capable of accommodating two shipping containers. The center has become a logistical conduit for Christ's ministry, sending tangible resources to those in need and making an intangible difference in their lives through hope and empowerment.

Impact

In 2022 alone, Midwest Mission sent out $7.99 million worth of supplies through 299 domestic and 48 international shipments. Each kit is packed with care, accompanied by prayer cards, ensuring that recipients feel the love and support of the community.
