Our Story
MEDRVA Healthcare's legacy began with Virginia Fox Beveridge, a visionary who, after experiencing blindness, dedicated her life to ensuring that others could receive quality eye care. In 1945, she left funds to establish the Richmond Eye Hospital, which opened its doors in 1952. Over the decades, the hospital evolved into Richmond Eye and Ear Hospital and eventually transformed into MEDRVA, reflecting its commitment to modern healthcare solutions.
Today, MEDRVA encompasses multiple surgery centers and an imaging center, serving the Central Virginia community with a focus on outpatient care. With over 200,000 surgeries performed and a commitment to community benefit, MEDRVA continues to honor Mrs. Beveridge's vision of accessible healthcare for all.
