Our Story

Founded in 1991, the Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI) is dedicated to advocating for low-income and homeless individuals. With a focus on innovative housing solutions, LIHI has grown to manage over 1,800 affordable apartments in the Puget Sound region, empowering residents through self-management and democratic decision-making.

Impact

LIHI has successfully transitioned 57 individuals from encampments into stable housing and assisted 40 people in securing employment, showcasing its effective approach to combating homelessness in Seattle.
