Our Story
LifeServe Blood Center has its roots in 1937, when Ike Small, an Iowa grocer, initiated the first blood donor referral process in central Iowa. Following a merger in April 2010 between the Blood Center of Iowa and Siouxland Community Blood Bank, LifeServe Blood Center was formed. Today, it collects approximately 156,000 units of blood annually, serving 157 hospitals across Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota.
