About Ladies of Charity of Oakland County

Founded in 1617 by St. Vincent de Paul, the Ladies of Charity is the earliest organization of lay women dedicated to serving Christ through the poor. Established in 1965, the Ladies of Charity of Oakland County continues this legacy by providing essential services to those in need. With a commitment to daily prayer and personal service, this organization enriches its members while addressing the challenges faced by the less fortunate.

Impact of Our Work

During the pandemic, the Ladies of Charity’s Clothes Closet and Food Pantry Warehouse processed over 8,762 orders for 6,995 individuals from July 2019 to June 2020. Food is sourced through Gleaners and the USDA’s Emergency Food Assistance Program, ensuring that families receive the support they need.
