In October 2000, a group of parents and professionals came together to establish the Kawasaki Disease Foundation, the first organization solely focused on Kawasaki disease. This initiative was born from the success of the Kawasaki Disease Parent’s Education Symposium, which united over 150 families from the U.S. and Canada, fostering education and peer support.
Funds raised directly support programs for families affected by Kawasaki disease, research, and awareness initiatives. Generous donations have enabled KDF to grant $100,000 to the Kawasaki Disease Research Center at UC San Diego, enhancing vital research efforts.
