Embracing Brave

Our Story

In 2012, the Dyer family faced a heartbreaking diagnosis when their daughter Jacqueline was diagnosed with Charcot Marie Tooth Disease (CMT), a genetic neuropathy with no known cure. By the end of Kindergarten, Jacqueline had lost the ability to move almost all parts of her body and became wheelchair-bound. Despite these challenges, the Dyer family remained positive and inspired those around them.

With the support of friends and community, Amanda Sieg, Jacqueline’s school aide, organized a 5K and fun run to raise funds for Jacqueline’s bucket list trip. The event raised over $8,000 in just four weeks, allowing Jacqueline to create cherished memories with her family. Today, Jacqueline continues to defy the odds, living life to the fullest and impacting everyone she meets.

Motivated by their experience, the Dyer family and their supporters established Just for J Inc to help other families facing similar challenges. The organization has grown significantly, expanding its reach to Denver, Colorado, and establishing an Ambassador Program to further its mission.
