The Jersey Shore Partnership was established in response to the devastating Halloween storm of 1991. This non-partisan organization is dedicated to ensuring that state and federal funding is available to protect New Jersey’s 127 miles of coastal shoreline from storm damage. Through advocacy and public awareness, the Partnership works tirelessly to promote beach restoration and other shore protection methods.
Since its inception, the Partnership has successfully advocated for the creation of an annual $15 million dedicated Shore Protection Fund, the first of its kind in the nation. This initiative has enabled the state to effectively safeguard its shoreline through beach restoration, re-nourishment, and ongoing maintenance management.
