Our Story

Founded in 2004 by five Jamaican expats in Dallas, Texas, Jamaica Youth Education Support (Jamaica YES) began its journey by assisting St. Theresa Basic School in St. Mary parish. Initially focused on providing school supplies, the organization quickly recognized the urgent need for food, leading to the launch of a vital breakfast program. This initiative has since evolved, impacting thousands of children through various educational and nutritional programs.

Impact

Jamaica YES supports 15 schools and provides over 4,100 meals weekly, positively affecting more than 850 students. The organization has seen improved attendance, reduced behavioral issues, and increased test scores, demonstrating that nourishing minds is essential for energizing futures.
