Our Story
The Iowa Black Doula Collective was founded by pioneering women who are among the first certified doulas of color in Iowa. This initiative addresses the critical needs of Black birthing people, ensuring access to holistic and evidence-based care for diverse families.
Our Impact
IBDC has positively impacted over 110 women and families, providing essential services and educational resources. This effort directly addresses the disproportionate rates of complications faced by Black women during fertility, pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum.
