About International Community Health Services

International Community Health Services (ICHS) has a rich history rooted in compassion and community commitment. Established in 1973, ICHS began as a response to the healthcare needs of low-income Asian immigrants in Seattle’s Chinatown. With a vision to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate health services, ICHS has grown from humble beginnings to serve thousands of patients each year across multiple locations.

Our Journey

In the early 1970s, the lack of accessible healthcare options for elderly Chinese and Filipino residents prompted a group of dedicated advocates, including Sister Heide Parreño and Bruce Miyahara, to take action. They established the Asian Community Health Clinic, which became a beacon of hope for those in need of medical care in their native languages. Over the decades, ICHS expanded its services and locations, reflecting the growing diversity of the Puget Sound region.

Today, ICHS operates multiple clinics, including the Bellevue Medical and Dental Clinic and the Shoreline Medical and Dental Clinic, offering a wide range of services such as medical, dental, vision, and behavioral health care. The organization is committed to promoting health equity and ensuring that everyone, regardless of their background, has access to quality healthcare.

Impact and Achievements

ICHS has been recognized for its outstanding contributions to community health, including receiving the Gold 2024 Immunize Washington Award for efforts in reducing vaccine-preventable diseases. The organization continues to adapt and grow, ensuring that it meets the evolving needs of the communities it serves.

Why Donate?

Your generous contributions play a crucial role in sustaining ICHS’s mission. Donations help provide free or low-cost health services to uninsured and low-income patients. For instance, a donation of $5,000 can fund medical checkups for 25 uninsured patients, while $250 can provide life-saving medication for two low-income adults with hepatitis B. Every dollar counts and directly impacts the health and well-being of the community.

Make a Difference Today

Join the movement to promote health equity and support those in need. Your donation, whether in cryptocurrency or cash, can transform lives and ensure that everyone has access to the healthcare they deserve. Together, we can build a healthier community for all.
