Our Story

Founded in 1943 in the Ensley neighborhood of Birmingham, Alabama, Holy Family Cristo Rey Catholic High School was established by the Congregation of the Passion. In 2007, it became part of the Cristo Rey Network, which uniquely combines rigorous academics with real-world corporate work experience. This innovative approach empowers students from economically challenged communities to break the cycle of poverty through education and professional development.

With a remarkable 100% college acceptance rate, HFCR has graduated over 605 students since 2008, equipping them with essential skills and experiences for success in higher education and beyond.
