Our Story

The Hindu Society traces its roots back to the 1960s when Indian immigrants began gathering in homes to celebrate their rich cultural heritage. This grassroots movement led to the formation of the Gita Society, which was officially incorporated in Illinois in 1968. Since then, the organization has become a cornerstone for the Hindu community in Chicago, offering a space for worship, education, and cultural exchange.

Impact

With over 5,000 devotees engaged and 450 events organized, the Hindu Society has significantly fostered community involvement through 750 dedicated volunteers.
