Our Story

The Healthcare Foundation Northern Sonoma County was established in 2001 by a dedicated group of community members who came together to save their local hospital. Through a successful $14.5 million capital campaign, the Healdsburg District Hospital was kept open, leading to significant improvements such as the new Wetzel Family Emergency Department and advanced medical technologies. Since its inception, the Foundation has invested over $23 million in enhancing community health.

With a focus on health equity, the Foundation has awarded $25.5 million in grants since 2001, significantly improving community health in Northern Sonoma County.
