Our Story

The Hanover Domestic Violence Task Force, now known as Hanover Safe Place, was established in the early 1990s to combat the rising tide of domestic violence. Formed by a coalition of dedicated service providers, government agencies, and community members, the organization became a beacon of hope for those in need. In 1994, it officially incorporated as a nonprofit, expanding its services to better support victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Our Impact

In FY2023, Hanover Safe Place provided shelter for 47 individuals, totaling 2,111 nights of safety. The organization responded to 4,840 hotline calls and assisted 43 individuals in securing permanent housing, demonstrating a profound commitment to community welfare.
