About Global Montessori Academy

Founded in 1984, Global Montessori Academy began as the Plaza Light School in the basement of Unity Temple. With just 18 students and one teacher, it quickly became a cherished educational institution. In 1990, a dedicated group of parents formed a non-profit corporation to ensure the school’s survival, leading to the establishment of Global Montessori Academy. Today, GMA operates from a new campus in Prairie Village, Kansas, featuring modern facilities including a large elementary complex, outdoor classrooms, and a natural playground.
