Our Story
Founded in 2006 by rock climbers Lizzy Scully and Heidi Wirtz, Girls Education International emerged from a profound realization of the educational disparities faced by girls in a village in Pakistan. The organization is dedicated to ensuring equal access to quality education for women and girls in rural and under-resourced communities.
Our Impact
Through partnerships with local NGOs, Girls Education International has successfully increased access to education for girls in remote regions, supporting as many as 100 girls at a time in Pakistan and launching a scholarship program in Tanzania.
