Our Story
Geneva Reads began in the fall of 2007, inspired by the generous support of the Wyckoff Family Foundation, which provided funding for books for children in Geneva. This initiative brought together various organizations dedicated to promoting literacy, including the Geneva City School District, Hobart and William Smith Colleges, and the Geneva Public Library. In 2011, a strategic planning process led to the establishment of a board of directors and the hiring of a part-time executive director in 2012. Since then, Geneva Reads has expanded its public presence, including a dedicated tent at community events, fostering a love for reading among local residents.
