Our Story

Geek Wellness Education was founded by David Lane after a personal mental health crisis highlighted the significance of genre properties in his life. Following the passing of John Lafia, the organization was born from the desire to provide mental health resources through a convention event. Although the event was canceled due to COVID-19, it sparked the creation of a nonprofit dedicated to supporting mental health through geek culture.
