Founded in 2012 by community leaders, Friends of the Spanish Moss Trail is a dedicated nonprofit organization focused on improving the quality of life in Beaufort County, South Carolina. With the guidance of an active Board of Directors and the leadership of Founder Dean Moss, the organization works tirelessly to advocate for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of the Spanish Moss Trail.

Nearly 10 miles of the Spanish Moss Trail have been developed, serving hundreds of daily users and connecting the City of Beaufort with the Town of Port Royal. This vital community asset promotes outdoor recreation and fosters community engagement.
