The Foundation for the Preservation of Historic Georgetown was established in 1965 by J. Noel Macy to combat the threats posed by the Old Georgetown Act of 1950. This organization is committed to safeguarding the Historic District of Georgetown, a treasured area listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Our Impact
Through dedicated efforts, the Foundation has secured conservation easements for 111 properties in Washington, D.C., effectively preserving the unique character of the neighborhood and preventing unwanted university expansion.
