Merriweather Arts and Culture Center

Our Story

The Merriweather Arts and Culture Center, originally known as the Downtown Columbia Arts and Culture Commission, was established in 2013 to enrich the arts and culture scene in Downtown Columbia, Maryland. In 2016, MACC acquired the iconic Merriweather Post Pavilion and undertook significant renovations to modernize this beloved venue. Since completing renovations in 2020, MACC has launched a robust annual programming calendar that supports community growth as a vibrant cultural hub.

Impact

MACC provides free and low-cost arts programming, making the arts accessible to a diverse community, especially youth and families. Through collaborations with local partners, MACC engages the community with artistic and educational programs that uplift and inspire.
