The Delaware Adolescent Program, Inc. (DAPI) was established in 1968 in New Castle County to provide pregnant teenagers with the opportunity to continue their education while receiving essential prenatal care. This pioneering program has become a national model, offering the necessary support to students who often face the challenge of being asked to leave their home schools due to pregnancy.

Today, DAPI serves hundreds of young women across New Castle, Kent, and Sussex counties, providing a nurturing environment that emphasizes personalized attention. As the only statewide comprehensive school-based program for pregnant and parenting teens, DAPI offers a range of services including academic instruction, social services, child care, on-site therapeutic counseling, and health services.

Impact and Achievements

DAPI has proudly maintained a 100% graduation rate among its seniors for the past six years, demonstrating its commitment to helping young women achieve their educational goals. In 2022, DAPI also celebrated a 100% healthy pregnancy and birth rate, showcasing the effectiveness of its holistic approach.
