Our Story
Founded in 1995 by JoAnn Tschaen, Community Boating Center (CBC) began with a vision to provide new opportunities for youth in New Bedford. Starting with just five boats, CBC has grown to serve over 3,000 youth annually, teaching positive life values through engaging boating programs.
Impact
CBC connects thousands of youth, ages 5 to 24, to the water through year-round programs that emphasize hands-on learning, mentorship, and community engagement. With 70% of participants receiving financial aid, CBC ensures that all youth have access to these transformative experiences.
