Our Story

The Community at Brookmeade has a rich history dating back to 1869, when it was founded in Brooklyn, New York, by Alexander MacDonald and Francis Mason. Originally established to provide care for seniors, the organization has evolved over the years, relocating to a beautiful 75-acre site in Rhinebeck in 1977. Today, it continues to welcome residents from diverse backgrounds, committed to quality care and community connection.

Impact

With a focus on dignity and quality of life, the Community at Brookmeade implements innovative programs like the NEW DAY Program, which has significantly improved resident morale and behavior. The Therapeutic Courtyard Project enhances outdoor spaces, providing residents with a safe and engaging environment.
